Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Read pick list to determine which products need to be pulled.
- Pull products from inventory to fill orders. Notify cell operators (assembler) when parts are needed. Pull parts for and package kits.
- Compare pulled products to pick list and check shipments prepared by others to verify accuracy.
- Access computer to generate pack slip; enter freight charges; and update shipment and inventory information.
- Determine appropriate packing materials, prepare cartons, pack products, enclose pack slips and prepare for final shipment.
- Access UPS computer, enter addresses, print and apply labels to cartons. Retrieve copy of UPS label to attach to pick list.
- Process paperwork for domestic and international shipments. Contact firms to arrange for pickup. Maintain adequate supply of cartons and packing materials as well as stockroom inventory, reordering as needed.
- Check for damages to cartons, crates and skids as they are off loaded from trucks. Refuse incoming shipments with damaged parts.
- Open incoming customer returns, matching parts with corresponding RA paperwork, and delivering to designated receiver.
- Determine placement of inventory, set up and label new inventory bins.
- Drive forklift to move heavy or bulky items to and from different areas of the warehouse.
- Use computers, hand tools, hand carts, forklifts, and cleaning equipment.
- Maintain working knowledge of the company’s ISO quality standards to follow ISO regulations.
- Direct, coordinate, and assist daily receiving activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of all incoming goods, their recording and delivery to location, including all returns.
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequently required to walk or move through the facility, lifting average weight material. Occasionally required to lift or move heavy weight material up to 70 pounds, move packages, pull hand carts, climb into forklift, drive forklift, reach, crouch, bend, read computer screen, address labels and keyboard.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- 3 to 5 years Shipping and Receiving experience
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
