Description
GENERAL SUMMARY:
This position transitions between warehouse and office work. Ideal candidate would have experience in both loading, unloading, moving material within the warehouse, and additionally helping with clerical work in shipping.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Loads and unloads material within a warehouse or storage facility.
- Moves material to and from trucks plus within the warehouse.
- Maintain accurate inventory in the warehouse BINS by appropriately utilizing scan gun procedures and participating in cycle counts and regular physical inventory counts.
- Receive inbound shipments validating items and quantities as itemized on packing slips, bills of lading, etc. utilizing scan gun procedures.
- Operates within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
- Perform cross-functional duties in support of the shipping department.
- Determine best shipping method based on cost and transit time.
- Process Less than Truckload (LTL) bill of ladings utilizing carrier web sites.
- Work with our Freight Desk to secure carriers for full truck load (FTL), expedited and international shipments.
- Process small package shipments with FedEx and UPS WorldShip.
- Schedule inbound raw material trucks and ensure timely delivery.
- Process export customs paperwork as necessary for international shipping.
- Request and/or create certificates of analysis as required.
- Communicate and email documents to customers.
- Identify and communicate damaged goods Immediately.
- Support Customer Service and Warehouse team members by communicating when urgent shipment issues arise.
- Work with designated group/individual to ensure shipments are appropriately scheduled.
- Take initiative to contribute to the positive growth of the department and organization while being a positive and motivating team player.
- Work in a safe manner and report unsafe situations.
- Cross train to all warehouse functions.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the warehouse.
- Safely operate a fork truck in the warehouse to organize inventory, unload incoming shipments and load outgoing shipments.
- Pick and stage customer orders in an efficient manner when needed.

Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Good organizational and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work within a diverse community.
- Fork truck experience Sit down/Stand up.
- Ability to work independently maintaining high standards.
- Must be able to work overtime as/if needed.
- Must comply with all safety protocols including proper usage of any/all necessary PPE for this position.
- Must be able to stand to operate a stand-up lift, mobility between departments.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED
- Previous experience working in a Shipping, Receiving Material Handler and Clerk duties.
- Previous exp with Stand-up Forklift required.
- RF Scanner Gun knowledge and experience required.
- Inventory and cycle counting experience required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
- Able to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
- Must be able to mop, sweep, pick up and carry items.
- Exposure to outside elements during workday.
- Potential exposure to chemicals or air pollutants.
