JOB SUMMARY:
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for packing and preparing sales orders for shipment and for receiving of APSCO components and parts, as well as retrieving and moving parts for work orders. This includes determining freight and documenting shipments, verifying incoming shipments from vendors, loading, and unloading freight trucks, and assisting with inventory management in accordance with Company procedures and the APSCO Quality Manual.
NOTE: This position is classified as a safety sensitive position under Oklahoma House Bill 2612, also known as the Unity Bill

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record and report shortages and discrepancies, and correspond with shipper to rectify damage and shortages
- Count and inspect raw materials & component parts for quality and conformity.
- Coordinate the flow of materials between Receiving, Shipping and Assembly, ensuring materials are stocked in a timely and organized manner
- Transfer materials between storage and production, assuring work areas have the necessary materials and stock assembly areas in accordance with lean schedules
- Assemble and load shipping containers using spacers, fillers, and protective padding
- Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
- Post weight and shipping charges and affix postage
- Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
- Prepare customs documentation for international orders
- Operate forklift to move shipments to storage or work areas
- Conduct inventory of shipping supplies
- Receive and process Return Material Authorizations (RMAs)
- Reconcile shipping bills
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as required
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years shipping/receiving experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to perform moderately heavy physical work with routine physical activity including:
- Standing 60% and walking 40%.
- Frequently requires excellent eye-hand coordination and hearing and visual acuity
- Ability to routinely lift 30 pounds and move up to 50 pounds throughout the facility.
- Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, noise, temperature, and other elements.
- Must be able to bend, stoop and maneuver safely around obstacles.
- Must comply with the Companys drug-free workplace policy.
- Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management.
EQUIPMENT OR TOOLS REQUIRED:
- Must wear safety shoes meting ANSI Z standards and safety glasses.
