Where the Chemistry Happens...
The Shift Supervisor, reporting to the Production Execution Manager, supervises the work activities of shift Production Technicians. The primary focus of the Shift Supervisor is to lead the shift team to maintain a safe, compliant, and reliable plant that delivers the needs of the business.
During your 12 hour rotating shift as a Shift Supervisor you will ...

• Lead and supervise the activities of shift workers, ensuring adherence to safe work practices, environmental regulations, quality standards, production goals, and cleanliness standards.
• Take the lead in the Management of Change (MOC) process and actively support and participate in incident investigations.
• Direct shift workers in the event of incidents or plant emergencies, acting as incident commander or in other emergency response roles as needed.
• Make necessary equipment and process adjustments based on key unit performance indicators, interpreting laboratory data and implementing corrective actions.
• Ensure the proper usage of procedures and support updates to procedures as necessary.
• Provide regular feedback to shift team employees and conduct annual performance evaluations as part of the Performance Management process.
• Contribute input to the strategic support team for plant improvement ideas.
• Lead and participate in reliability reviews, root cause failure analysis, unit production and safety meetings.
• Lead and participate in hands-on training and assessments for shift workers, identifying any gaps and providing input to the learning and development teams for specific developmental needs.
• Ensure completion of assigned tasks by shift workers and support continuous improvement activities.
• Manage plant performance to meet optimization targets and ensure equipment readiness for maintenance.
• Maintain effective communication with unit manager, relief, operators, engineers, and maintenance personnel to promote teamwork and a respectful work environment.
• Monitor daily inventories of raw materials and finished products.
• Coordinate maintenance work within the unit and communicate requirements and status to the Maintenance Coordinator.
• Document operator payroll time, vacations, absences, training records, and performance. Write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and procedures as needed.
• Inspect unit environmental equipment, instrumentation, and monitoring devices to comply with TNRCC operating permits.
• Complete any special assignments as requested.

If you...

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in Operations of a Chemical Plant and Plant Operations
• Strong leadership skills required to direct technicians to produce quality chemicals in a safe and cost-effective manner.
