Job description

Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, the Residential Facility Monitor will supervise daily living functions and assist in providing program activities; monitors residents and visitors in program participation and compliance. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Maintaining shift coverage, supervision and support of residential clients, setting and contributing to the safety and security of the clients and the facility.
  • Enforcing program rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Intervene in crisis situations, reporting to on-call counselor in case of emergency.
  • Document and report observations and pertinent information concerning client behaviors, attitudes and interactions in the communication log.
  • Report and monitor residential medications according to procedures.
  • Guiding clients and facilitating appropriate behavior about daily living skills, self-care, personal interaction, social relationships and constructive time management.
  • Conducting regular rounds of the facility and interacting with participants to share information, provide supplies, and facilitate interventions as necessary.
  • Address negative behaviors with a positive attitude.
  • Conduct and/or monitor educational groups as assigned (day & evening shifts).
  • Perform periodic inspections of the facility and develop corrective action plans to address problems.
  • Supervise client activities including breaks, work assignments, recreational activities, and other activities.
  • Perform minor maintenance/cleaning. Oversee and participate in the cleaning of the home.
  • Ensure chores are completed; inspect house for health and safety hazards.
  • Supervise or monitor the preparation of meals.
  • Participate in applicable meetings, trainings, conferences, etc. as required both internally and externally.
  • Remains culturally sensitive and respectful in all client and staff interactions.
  • Adheres to all client confidentiality requirements and standards, including updates of the shared Release of Information (ROI) to ensure that information is current and accurate.
  • Comfortable performing various projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
  • Ability to get along with diverse personalities; understanding, mature, and flexible.
  • Possess strong judgment, problem-solving and reasoning abilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Must have valid California Class C Driver’s License; maintain a good safety record (verified by DMV at hire and periodically) and a reliable vehicle; proof of liability insurance if driving personal vehicle.
  • First Aid and CPR certifications obtain within 90 days (about 3 months) of employment and maintain current thereafter.
  • Experience with culturally diverse population and/or the formerly incarcerated.
  • Must have flexibility to work some evening and weekend hours.
  • Must be able to drive (when needed).. If employee drives his/her personal automobile for RTW business, employee must have valid California driver’s license and comprehensive automobile insurance coverage, as required by law.
  • Ability to understand and interpret information, follow instructions and manage workflow.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with people in a constructive manner within a community-based treatment setting.
  • Basic and routine computer keyboarding, programs and software and advanced office management practices and operating procedures.
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, apply professional judgement in solving difficult issues, and to communicate in a clear, precise and professional manner.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish speaking) preferred.
  • Recovering individuals must have a minimum of two years clean, sober and abstinent to be considered for employment.

ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS/INTERACTIONS

Interfaces with all levels of management, staff, clients, residents, and families, including partner agencies.

PHYSICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must have the visual, physical, and technical ability to independently operate a variety of office equipment, including the use of a computer. Will also require bending, stooping, filing, lifting of at least 25 lbs. or more, and ability to interrupt physical altercations. Ability to verbally communicate well with others.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Services may involve travel to offsite locations for assessments, service provision, and crisis management.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS

FULL-TIME, Nonexempt; Weekly Pay

ANTICIPATED HOURS

Work hours can vary and may require swing shift, overnight, weekends, evenings, and holidays per program requirements.
