Position Summary
The Sheetmetal Technician III role is responsible for helping maintain aircraft structures by completing inspections, repairs, modifications and updating primary, secondary structures such as frames, skins, flight controls cowling, doors, antenna mounts, doublers and special mission structures as defined by Engineering. At times you can be called upon to mentor lower-level Sheet Metal Technicians to build the over skill level of the organizations.

Essential Functions Statement:
- Complete aircraft work in hangar, ramps and remote locations
- Work in conjunction with systems and avionics department technicians to complete projects.
- Inspect, repair, modify, and update aircraft structures using hand-held tools or air driven tools.
- Assist and mentor junior technicians in the maintenance of aircraft.
- Repair and modify Sheet Metal aircraft structures.
- Utilize technical data and aircraft drawings to locate part numbers and accomplish reports.
- Fabricate parts and perform maintenance in accordance with FAA approved technical data.
- Research FAA technical data to locate applicable data relevant to assigned task.
- Repair aircraft structure in accordance with specifications.
- Read work orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine repair or fabrication.
- Utilize metal fabrication machines such as saws, brakes, shears, and grinders.
- Assist other technicians in the maintenance of aircraft as required.
Other Responsibilities
Clean aircraft, equipment and other work locations ensuring a safe and professional appearance.
• May fill in for Aircraft Technician Supervisor in their absence.

Work Environment
This job operates in an environment of shopfloor in hangars, remote locations, ramp and outdoors with potential adverse weather conditions and high noise levels.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Hours and work shift may change in accordance with department and business needs. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.

Required Education and Experience
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
- 10+ years as an aircraft Sheet Metal Technician.
- 5+ years’ combined experience on any of the following airframes: King Air, Challengers, Hawkers or Gulfstream.
- Aircraft structures special modification experience a plus.
Computer Skills: Basic computer knowledge; Maintenance Tech Pub
Preferred Education and Experience
Education: Aviation Technical School
Computer Skills: Corridor
Certificates:
- FAA Airframe or Airframe & Power Plant preferred.
- Will consider work experience for the right candidate with unique structures experience.
Work Authorization
