Sheet Metal Fabricator / Bolt Up Construction

ULG Skilled Trades seeks Sheet Metal Worker with experience in fabrication, building, and bolt-up installation of metal structures, silos, mezzanines, rail systems & more

JOB DETAILS:

• Location: Allendale, MI
• Pay: $22 - $25 / hour (BOE)
• Starts: ASAP
• Ends: Ongoing
• Hours: 40-50/week (Mon-Fri, 8-10 hr./day)
• Full competitive benefits after intro period
• Some travel (company-provided arrangements)

Scope: Measuring, fabricating, rigging up, setting and installing a wide range of metal structures. Large portion of work performed at heights!

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Consults blueprints, work orders, and/or schematics to safely construct specified structure; develops additional sketches if needed.
• Selects appropriate material for each job based on the desired or necessary strength.
• Uses tools. Cuts, bends, and shapes Sheet Metal to required dimensions.
• Measures, cuts, and welds pieces together according to specifications, blueprints, or directions.
• Connects pieces or secures seams by riveting, rolling, soldering, or using steel screws.
• Performs assigned work on mezzanines, stairways, guarding or other railings.
• Coordinates required shutdowns and startups of equipment with other departments after Sheet Metal installation.
• Develops and maintains records for projects and repairs.
• Completes tasks on time with accuracy and precision

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to complete Sheet Metal projects with accuracy and precision.
• Ability to safely use machinery and tools involved in Sheet Metal work.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics to understand product assignment.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods lifting, reaching, and working on scaffolding, from lifts or ladders, and/or from overhead structures.
