Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work in a fast-paced environment with fast changing priorities, providing a high level of attention to detail and focus on a given task and keeping work area clean and organized.
  • Sets up and operates a variety of CNC and Machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments, such as Press Brakes, Drill Presses, Flow Waterjet, Bridgeport Mill, Lathes, Milling Machines. 
  • Measures, examines, and documents required dimensions to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and measuring vision system.
  • Fill out Work Order travels and all inspection documents.  
  • Uses target times to evaluate timely completion of work. Notifies lead person or supervisor about substantive discrepancies between manufacturing planning target time and actual set-up and/or run times.
  • Disposes of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.
  • Tears down machine or hand tool set-up upon completion of production run, returning all tools, equipment, and accessories to their proper locations. Moves complete part order to next manufacturing operation or staging area.
  • Responsible for minor machine maintenance and maintaining proper alignment and condition of machine.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the management team including working as needed in various other positions to support workflow and to fill in for other team members.

Required Skills

  • Ability to read and follow blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
  • Sets up and operates a variety of CNC and Machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments, such as Press Brakes, Drill Presses, Flow Waterjet, Bridgeport Mill.
  • Experience with measuring tools such as caliper, micrometer, indicator etc.
  • Precision fabrication – holding tolerances +/- .005”.
  • Work with various metal types – carbon steel, copper, brass, stainless steels, aluminum, and titanium.
  • Understands a Quality Standard, such as ISO 9001.
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards, due dates, instructions, and specifications.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Multi-tasking – ability to perform multiple jobs at one time, Example: C’Sink, Ream, while running Waterjet.
  • Able to do repetitive tasks.

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Mechanically inclined with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and be self-motivated.

Preferred Skills & Experience (not required)

  • 1+ years of experience running a press brake.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly lifts up to 20 pounds unassisted.  Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Regularly stands for 8 hours.
  • Work environment is bright, and temperature controlled.
