TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT CENTER TECHNICIAN(Beaufort County Sheriff's Office): Traffic Management is part of the Emergency Management Division (EMD) and is comprised of non-sworn (civilian) personnel. Our primary function is to support EMD during the time of a disaster or potential disaster, such as Hurricanes, other weather- related incidents or any other incident that threatens or affects the citizens of Beaufort County. Our primary role is asset placement and logistics as well as temporary operations- structure placement as well as meeting the needs of EMD and the Sheriff’s Office during a disaster.
When not actively involved in these duties, our day-to-day functions range from operating our Traffic Management Center (TMC) and monitoring our more than 80 cameras that are located county wide. Camera and site repairs, preventive maintenance as well as ground maintenance at those sites, are all duties that we perform.
TMC also provides and installs traffic assist device placement, such as Digital Message boards, cones and barricades, and emergency lighting. We program, operate, and maintain the Sheriff’s Office Highway Advisory Radio system for emergencies and special events.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* High school diploma or General Equivalent Diploma (GED)
* Experience which provides the skills, knowledge and abilities required for the position
* Must maintain the training standards established by the Sheriff’s Office
* Must possess and maintain a valid South Carolina driver’s license at the time of appointment

Salary: $21.90 per hour / $45,552 annually
