VESCO has an immediate direct-hire Service Technician Level 5 opportunity open at our servicecenter in East Windsor, Connecticut!
As a Service Technician V, you will be responsible for the preparation of equipment in a re-manufacturing process including, but not limited to, assuming a leadership role and facilitating shop operations with minimal supervision. Service Tech Level 5 must be capable of performing all tasks and responsibilities of a Service Tech Level 4 including, but not limited to, addressing higher level technical questions with resolution, disassembly, assembly of all certified products, and electromechanically testing pumps and blowers. Must possess the ability to read, interpret, and apply technical documents. Additional responsibility of training Level 1 through Level 4 service techs and complete assigned duties as directed in a timely and accurate manner while maintaining an acceptable level of cleanliness and organization in the work area.

Job Responsibilities
- Assist Level 1-4 Service Technicians as requested or directed to achieve production goals
- Assemble pumps and pump components per the prescribed timeframe.
- Comply to all Busch policies and procedures
- Present parts for assembly in a standardized format using boards, tables, and/or carts according to established procedures
- Assemble all certified products as per Global Support Group or train the trainer
- Disassembly of all Busch products and prepare documentation for estimation
- Aid in developing production schedule and perform Gemba walks to ensure compliance
- Maintain production board and product flow movements in FMS, Lean Kit or Lean as required
- Assist with warehouse inventory and shipping functions as needed or directed.
- Perform preventive maintenance on shop equipment as part of Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) program.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals and objectives.
- Assist with the implementing and maintaining 5S and Lean activities to improve flow and reduce waste as per Management direction
- Provide leadership through example and sharing of knowledge and skills as per certification training
- Perform routing preventive maintenance on shop equipment in their defined step
- Participate in the evaluation, testing, and documentation of assembly methods and procedures as directed or required in accordance with the global service teams’ guidelines
- Use company vehicle to drop off and pick up parts and supplies from local vendors such as machine shops and coaters – requires a valid driver’s license with driver history at an acceptable level to Busch insurance standards
- Interface with global Busch teams on production issues
- Must comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures while reporting all unsafe activities and concerns to supervisor, safety officer, or human resources
- Domestic travel, as required, to support training requirements, customer field support

Required Experience
- Associate’s Degree or Technical training in related field: Preferred
- 4+ years of relevant experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment: Required
- Previous electrical experience with single and three-phase power distribution systems and controls
- Ability to troubleshoot electromechanical systems
- Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form
- Possess the ability to read, interpret, and apply technical documents and troubleshoot at a module level
- Ability to safely and productively operate hand and power tools, as well as material handling equipment, including overhead cranes
- Experienced in the use of measurement devices, such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, torque wrenches, depth gages, bore gages, vacuum gages, ampere meters, multimeters, and infrared temperature gages
- Education: High School graduate or General Education Degree- Required
- Computer skills: Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software- Required

Job Requirements
- Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
- Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
- Must pass respirator fit test (annual retesting required)
- Must be willing to maintain facial hair to a minimum for respirator fitment
- Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE
- Physical Requirements
- Constant reaching outward, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 10lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 25lbs
- Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying to 50lbs and pushing/pulling up to 100lbs.
- Must possess valid driver’s license
- All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
