Job Description
We are actively seeking a Sales Representative to join our growing company and sales team! Working under the Contract Sales Manager, this position is responsible for selling annual HVAC preventive maintenance contracts to both potential and existing customers in Maryland (northeast and Eastern Shore) and Delaware. The ideal candidate will have a hunter’s mentality, is self-motivated as well as a team player, possess excellent social and organizational skills, and is adept at fostering strong in-person relationships.
Essential Functions
• Travel within sales territory to market ModernControls to commercial/industrial Facilities Managers, Property Managers, Operations Managers, etc.
• Make outbound, in-person calls to conduct site-surveys in order to draft annual HVAC preventive maintenance proposals
• Negotiate price and terms of maintenance contracts with decision-makers in order to close the sale
• Always maintain a professional company image
• Identify opportunities to improve sales performance
• Monitor market conditions in relation to competitors
• Build and maintain strong and successful relationships with new and repeat customers
• Maintain records of all sales leads and/or customer accounts in CRM database
• Educate customers on how products or services can benefit them financially and professionally
• Monitor industry competitors, new products, and market conditions to understand a customer's specific needs
Requirements:• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, and/or equivalent work experience that demonstrates expertise in customer engagement.
• Possess a proactive & welcoming demeanor, a well-groomed & professional appearance, exemplary phone etiquette and interpersonal skills in person, in writing and over the phone
• High comfort level in initiating conversations Proven business development experience - HVAC industry experience preferred but not mandatory
• Exceptional presentation skills
• Self-motivated and self-disciplined and proactive problem solver
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong customer service and rapport
• Great persuasive and negotiation skills
