Requirements
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 18 years old
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must be available M-F 9am-5pm and evenings and weekends on occasion
  • Must have reliable transportation to be able to travel to all program activity sites
  • Experience working with underserved, high-risk and underserved populations
  • Knowledgeable and comfortable using social media
  • Ability to collect, manage and compile data for reporting purposes
  • Proficient computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and data entry
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear and concise reports, recommendations, and correspondence
  • This position is heavily weighed on the human relations It is necessary to be skilled at cultivating meaningful relationships with the general public, branch and community members.
  • Commitment to the goals and guiding principles of the HOPE SF initiative and an understanding of the needs of low-to moderate-income residents as it relates to housing and workforce outcomes
  • Current YMCA approved first aid and CPR certification*

*Necessity and timing determined by branch
PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS
  • AA in social work, Public Policy, Psychology, Public Health, Health Education and or related
  • Experience with Housing stabilization, case management and program reporting.
  • Bilingual: Spanish, Cantonese or Mandarin
  • Knowledge of Trauma Informed practices

Position Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Bayview YMCA is one of the anchor service providers in Sunnydale, Huntersview and the Bayview Hunters Point communities. Our mission is to provide holistic and comprehensive programs that support health, wellness and self-efficacy in youth, families, and communities.
This position works off-site at our Huntersview office in Bayview and Sunnydale Housing Projects in Visitation Valley community of San Francisco. The overall goal of the Service Connector is to engage and connect families to needed resources and services to promote family stability and functioning, self-sufficiency, and housing stability. Proactive engagement skills are essential in assisting and connecting the residents to utilizing community resources to support family stability and promote self-sufficiency to sustain their housing. Flexibility is a must. This position also requires reliable transportation to get to and from meetings and trainings.
HOPE SF is a multi-sector initiative, unified by shared principles and goals to eradicate generational poverty. Through our public/private partnership, the initiative develops four of the most socially isolated public housing communities in the City of San Francisco into vibrant mixed-income communities with minimal displacement. Their Big Result: Families are housed in safe, inclusive communities, healthy and economically mobile, with children and youth who succeed in school.
Salary:$22.10 to $26.00 per hour
