Job description

Kemin Application Solutions is hiring a Service Application Engineer!  This role is the face of Kemin Application Solutions (KAS) team!  In this position, you'll travel to customer sites working directly with their teams to implement and service Kemin's product application systems.

 

Focused on developing and maintaining customer relationships, the ideal candidate will enjoy working with customers and their application equipment to assure the safe, efficacious, and accurate application of liquid products in feed mills, animal by-product rendering plants and pet food facilities. 

 

This position requires 75-80% travel in North America.  It is preferred candidates lives in Des Moines, Iowa; a remote opportunity may be considered.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers at the plant level
  • Inspect components of liquid application systems to assure systems are functioning properly and safely
  • Inspect customer facilities to assure a safe working environment
  • Perform preventative maintenance including adjustments to plumbing, mechanical components (pumps and flow meters), and electronics
  • Collect, organize, and present data gathered during scheduled equipment checks to foster continuous improvement and improve the customer experience
  • Position focuses on customer relationship and calibrating and maintaining equipment.
  • Participate in attending local exhibitions, seminars, training and workshops.
  • Provide feedback and assistance in development of new applications systems
  • Provide day to day support to customers, sales team and KAS engineers
  • Assist in on-site equipment installations, commissioning and training of plant personnel

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and experience in areas of hydro-mechanics, electro-mechanical engineering; measurement and control technology; processing engineering preferred. 
  • Experience in an industrial environment, including field work at customer locations
  • Capability to learn and understand electrical and communication systems (PLC)
  • Ability to work independently or in a structured team
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
  • Ability to read blueprints and P&IDs
  • Quality minded
  • Experience in Feed Mill process technology
  • Experience with liquid dosing systems
  • Solidworks or AutoCAD experience a plus
  • Self-starter, with an outgoing personality, highly organized and able to work independent or in a team
  • TRAVEL >75% in North American Region
