Iza Whiskey and Eats is an Asian fusion restaurant serving small plates, sushi, ramen, whiskey, sake and cocktails with a modern twist. We recently opened our sister restaurant La Montaña, a Latin-Asian concept this fall, and are currently seeking new team members for brunch/ lunch service at La Montaña. We are located in downtown Carrboro providing the community with unique food and drink parings in an intimate and lively setting.
Job Description:
La Montaña is seeking Front of House Staff/ Servers enthusiastic about food, wine, beer, cocktails, and most importantly, hospitality. We desire professional, hardworking, self-motivated individuals with excellent customer service able to provide an individualized, exceptional guest experience. We have recently launched our lunch menu and are looking to expand our program!
A main role of our team members is to assist guests through the menu and educate them on our cuisine. We ask that all staff display full knowledge about menu items to best assist guests in making food and beverage selections. We require that all team members display strong communication, collaboration, active listening, and problem-solving skills to ensure overall guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
The primary function of this position is to provide all guests with excellent service. Additional responsibilities for this position include:
- Each server must take pride in personal appearance to uphold Iza/ La Montaña standards.
- Serve guests their food and beverage in prompt, courteous manner as per the standard sequence of service.
- Our servers build relationships with guests, keeping them happy, comfortable, and informed throughout their time with us.
- Understand restaurant seating layout, how tables are divided into server areas, and how to deliver food within the restaurant.
- Timely retrieve all plates, glasses, silverware, etc. once guests are finished with their course.
- Daily completion of side work duties.
- Detailed cleaning and stocking of all necessary silverware, dishes, and any important FOH items for the next shift.
- Present physical and accurate check to guest and complete the payment process.
- Display full knowledge of the food & beverage items & their specifications, menu prices, recipes and style of service etc.
- Ensure communication between kitchen, bar, guests and other service team members.
- Communicate all relevant information pertaining to guests to management daily, and hold line-up with the team during next shift.
- In addition, other duties may be required as directed by your manager.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience is preferred but not required
- Excellent customer service skills and etiquette.
- Ability to execute proper sanitation practices and safety procedures.
- Must meet state minimum age (18+) for serving alcoholic beverages.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, team-work environment.

Pay: $15.00 - $30.00 per hour
