Job Overview:
We are seeking servers who are responsible for positive member / guest interaction while serving in a friendly and efficient manner.
Responsibilities:
- Practice three steps of service, warm welcome, friendly compliance and fond farewell.
- Knowing and understanding all food menu items.
- General beverage knowledge
- Presenting menus, suggesting dishes, communicating specific customer needs (i.e., allergies and special modifiers) to the kitchen.
- Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
- Up-sell food and beverage items using suggestive selling techniques.
- Maintain a high-level dining experience at all times while keeping in mind we are family serving family.
- Answer questions about our food, beverage and other restaurant/club events.
- Perform opening/closing side work continually throughout the day.
- Maintain clean service areas.
- Constant training and development of food and beverage knowledge.
- Prepare final bill, present to member ensuring signature/member number/amount.
- Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise.
- Be able to efficiently serve a four to five table station.
- Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
- Member name recognition.
- Using L.A.S.T. when solving challenges. Listen, Apologize, Solve, and Thank.
- Other duties as assigned by Dining Room Captain/Restaurant Supervisor or Management.
Qualifications:
Education requirements or Equivalent:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Specialized Knowledge:
TABC Certification Food Handlers Certification
Competencies:
- Previous customer service and/or food and beverage service preferred, not required.
- Menu knowledge, food and beverage knowledge specific to the restaurant.
- Service standards specific to restaurant.
Unusual Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to workdays/nights, weekends and holidays. The employee is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is routinely required to stand for long hours of time.
