Responsibilities:
Data Center Program Manager

THE ROLE
:
Server Customer Program Manager role in the Server Platform Solutions Engineering organization. This individual will be responsible for end-to-end support for assigned North American Server OEM program(s), from initial development through End-of-Life. Responsibilities include defining and managing key product deliverables/schedules and driving cross-functional activities to achieve both AMD and customer goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Customer Service
  • Serve as primary support contact, in development and sustaining, for Server Customer Program teams; maintain client relationship with program sponsors and project lead
  • Understand the customer’s business goals and requirements; foster relationships and manage expectations to ensure customer needs are aligned with AMD business goal.
  • Drive for highest levels of customer satisfaction; be a strong advocate for the customer
  • Manage customer requirements in development, as well as critical issues and escalations

Project Management
  • Lead and support complex, multidisciplinary projects of varying size and scope from start to finish; work with internal and external stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage schedules, develop project collateral, provide status reports, and communicate clearly on key customer issues across the company.
  • Provide strong leadership to project team to successfully execute deliverables and maintain schedules.
  • Focus on continuous process improvement/refinement and future opportunities to support scalability.
  • Identify program risks and technology dependencies, proactively escalate customer needs and develop mitigation plans to ensure project success

Additional Responsibilities
  • Align with AMD cross-functional teams (Business Unit, Sales, Engineering) on customer engagement, with emphasis on driving technical enablement/communications, technical support, and debug/issue resolution
  • Assist in executive brief development
  • Occasional travel may be required

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Professional experience in semiconductor industry server architecture and design
  • Extensive project management experience with demonstrated ability to manage schedules, project risks, customer communication, requirement tracking, conflict resolution, and escalation management
  • Experience working specifically on server development and/or datacenter products and technologies. Must have solid understanding of server development life cycle, technical concepts, architecture systems, development methods and disciplines across hardware, firmware, and software.
  • Experience leading cross-functional and cross-regional teams with a proven track record of delivering quality products at scale
  • Hands-on engineering experience in a relevant area such as server system validation, BIOS development, hardware design, cloud software development, etc.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills with ability to adjust level of detail to target audience. Analytical, consulting, and organizational skills, with a proven ability to follow through on multiple tasks and priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including professionalism, cooperation, listening and consensus building
  • Results driven, detail oriented, organized, and able to understand various perspectives, debate technical approaches, and identify gaps and solution
  • Ability to develop strong subject-matter expertise to recommend and implement effective decisions to support customers and projects
  • Blend of technical background and business/market/industry acumen
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service
  • Experience using JIRA, Microsoft Teams, Project and Power BI, as well as working across a distributed cross-functional team of technical and non-technical members
  • Experience using Python

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Engineering (Computer or Electrical) or another relevant field required
  • Master’s degree, Ph.D., or equivalent experience preferred
  • PMP certification a plus, but not required
