What You Will Do
As a Senior Web-Front End Developer on our Platform team, you will help build the technical infrastructure and tooling that supports millions of robots, educators, and enthusiastic learners throughout the world. You will join our existing team of developers as a person who feels comfortable and is proficient at front-end development technologies. You are able to work on the user interface using best of breed front-end frameworks as well as coordinating with team members working on back-end capabilities to deliver the full solution. In addition, you will work on a small, talented team to create software that shapes the experiences of the creators of tomorrow, and will have immediate and direct impact on the company’s core efforts. You will work alongside app developers, firmware engineers, mechanical engineers, artists, marketers, and many more awesome people every day.
Responsibilities:
- Develop new capabilities and maintain existing code for Sphero web solutions.
- Participate in design of new features including integrations with the backend platform.
- Provide estimates on duration for work, communicate schedule updates and strive to deliver results in a timely manner.
- Manage priorities and proactively suggest changes that can optimize results.
- Maintain expertise in web development - suggest changes in implementation to take advantage of the changing landscape.
- Resolve complex technical issues independently.
- Proactively identify issues or areas for improvement and implement changes to address them without explicit direction.
- Partner with product managers and QA to define good requirements and ensure both direct and regression testing are effective.
- Communicate effectively both within development (giving guidance to other developers) and cross-functionally with content, creative, operations, etc.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of professional React web interface development experience in a team environment.
- Experience working with Apollo/GraphQL to support those web interfaces.
- Significant experience writing maintainable, well-tested JavaScript.
- Modern software development workflow with experience using Git and continuous integration.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of a codebase and work independently.
- Experience in the full life cycle of development to deployment.
- Strong demonstrated knowledge of principles, design patterns and best practices.
- Great collaboration and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent skill set.
- Must be located in and authorized to work in the US.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $102,000 - $144,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.
