This role is a unique combination of WordPress developer and visual designer. With your expertise in web development and visual design, you will help craft an online experience that's both engaging and informative. We need someone who knows their way around WordPress and can make our site functional and visually appealing. You will also work to develop a visual language Flatiron School uses in all media settings. You will work closely with content creators, marketing teams, and other stakeholders to ensure designs align with content strategy and brand guidelines. You'll be joining a team that values innovation and learning, in an environment where your skills will directly impact our students and their educational experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
- Keep the Flatiron School website up-to-date and running smoothly using WordPress
- Customize WordPress themes, plugins, and blocks to add new features and improve the user experience
- Design and implement websites that are easy to use, look great, and run optimally
- Work with different teams to ensure the website reflects our goals and standards
- Create and implement brand and design guidelines
Qualifications:
- Developer
- 5+ years setting up, configuring, and managing WordPress websites
- Familiarity with WordPress page builders like Elementor, Divi, or Gutenberg
- Experience in designing responsive web pages optimized for various devices
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS (SASS), JavaScript, and PHP for web design implementation
- Ability to translate design concepts into functional website design
- Knowledge of techniques to optimize website speed and performance
- Design
- 5+ years creating visually appealing web layouts and user interfaces
- Understanding of web standards and accessibility guidelines
- Proficient in graphic design tools like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar software (Figma)
- Ability to create and optimize graphics, images, and other visual elements for web use
- Experience in creating and maintaining a consistent visual identity across the website and other platforms
- Skill in organizing and presenting content in a clear, engaging, and visually appealing manner
- Understanding of typography, color theory, and layout principles as they apply to web design
- Experience in creating infographics, interactive content, or other visual formats to enhance user engagement
- Basic understanding of SEO principles and their application in web design

Expected Compensation:
- $90K-$100K
