The reporting location for this position is Headquarters in Sacramento, CA.
Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager II, the Information Technology Specialist III will serve as the senior technical expert responsible for developing and designing the core of a non-COTS Bootstrap CMS. The incumbent will provide technical leadership for coding and application programming interface development for an industry leading and highly complex enterprise web presence and application development environment. Efforts related to the development and maintenance of code will include planning, analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, training, and troubleshooting as well as emergency response to cyber security threats and defense in depth. The Senior Web and Application Developer oversees the backend architecture, development, and design of the Department of Parks and Recreation's (DPR) internal and external interfaces for the DPR website, provides technical architecture and structured development direction to DPR's Web Team and associated programming staff and application development staff. This position will ensure functionality and structural programming platform availability to the team. Participation in accessibility testing and assists supervisory and management staff in guiding remediation efforts for all web programming and application programming interfaces (APIs) and reviews contributed code for proper implementation of SSDLC principles, modifications in compliance with federal and state law and DPR policy.
Travel and/or after-hours support may be required.
