Junior Web Application Developer

10-8 Systems is an early-stage, self-funded startup dedicated to developing cutting-edge applications to support and enhance the capabilities of First Responders. We are a small capable team of entrepreneurial-minded software developers, committed to making a positive impact in the community through innovative technology solutions. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented and passionate Junior Web Application Developer to join our dynamic team.

The successful candidate will be eager to learn above all. They will be self motivated and seek to solve challenges on their own. They will appreciate working with a small but experienced team of Sr and Architect level developers where solving problems quickly and having high expectations is expected. This is a unique opportunity to become part of a ground floor team.

Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated Junior Web Application Developer to contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of our database applications that supports our mission. As a part of our collaborative team, you will work alongside experienced software developers and senior-level professionals, gaining valuable experience and making a meaningful impact from day one.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with senior developers to design, develop, and maintain Web Applications.
• Understand the differences between Visual Studio Code / Github / Azure Dev Ops / AWS
• Utilize PHP, JQuery / JavaScript and MySQL technologies to build robust and scalable solutions.
• Work closely with the dev team to understand project requirements and contribute to the overall software development lifecycle.
• Assist in the creation of database structures, queries, and optimization to ensure optimal performance.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for new application features.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance skillset and contribute to the team's innovation.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated full-stack (DB->UI) technical understanding (github / code review)
• Willingness to help maintain existing technologies
• Prefer bachelor's degree in Computer Science but will consider demonstrateable experience
• Strong foundational level understanding of web development technologies, including procedural PHP, jQuery / JavaScript, and MySQL.
• Familiarity with mobile Application Development for Android (Java) and iOS platforms (swift), or other non-native framework is a Plus but not required.
• Passion for learning and a proactive attitude towards problem-solving.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Enthusiasm for working in a dynamic startup environment with a focus on creating solutions for first responders.

Job Types: Full-time, Internship

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
