KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
- Preparation of new, renewal, and amendment permit applications for industrial facilities.
- Attend contested public hearings regarding water permits on behalf of clients.
- Negotiate permit conditions and effluent limitations with regulatory agencies.
- Use creative strategies to locate appropriate water sources and support clients in acquiring water rights.
- Support clients with drinking water compliance and permitting needs.
- Preparation of compliance plans such SWPPS, SPCC, and FRPs.
- Prepare DMRs for clients based on laboratory data.
- Troubleshoot wastewater treatment equipment and operational conditions to determine causes of effluent limitation exceedances.
- Eager to learn and participate in cross media projects not limited to water.
- Write proposals and create budgets for projects.
- Manage technical and administrative staff to successfully complete projects.
- Network with existing and new clients to facilitate growth for TRC’s Water Permitting and Compliance portfolio.
Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Sciences, or related degree from an accredited university.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial wasteWater Permitting.
- Solid understanding of design and operation of industrial and municipal wastewater treatment plants and collection systems.
- Strong familiarity with federal, state, and municipal water regulations.
- Strong understanding of sampling techniques and laboratory data related to water quality analysis.
- Demonstrated success in project and client management.
- Ability to develop a positive relationship with our clients and employees.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Professional licensure preferred but not required.
