Location: North Chicago, IL

- Oversee and manage the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of chilled water systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Lead and coordinate steam and boiler operations, including routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and responding to any operational issues promptly.
- Manage industrial power generation systems, including generators and associated equipment, to ensure reliable and uninterrupted power supply for the plant's operations.
- Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities by providing guidance and direction to a team of operators, fostering a collaborative and safety-focused work environment.
- Conduct regular assessments of utility systems to identify areas for improvement, implement efficiency measures, and optimize resource utilization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute shutdowns, turnarounds, and commissioning activities related to utility systems.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for utility operations, and actively participate in audits and inspections.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for utility systems, and provide training to operators to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics, such as energy consumption, system reliability, and downtime, to identify trends and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with maintenance teams to plan and execute equipment upgrades, repairs, and replacements to minimize downtime and ensure the reliability of utility systems.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to review and approve designs for utility system upgrades or expansions, ensuring alignment with operational requirements.
- Act as a point of contact for emergencies and coordinate the response to incidents involving utility systems, ensuring swift resolution and minimal impact on plant manufacturing processes.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, maintenance activities, and compliance documentation, and provide regular reports to management on utility system status.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in utility operations, and leverage this knowledge to drive innovation and continuous improvement within the plant.
- Education: High School Diploma
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in industrial utility generation in manufacturing or a related industry.
- Must show the ability to react quickly and properly to emergencies (such as loss of steam air, refrigeration, potable water, chilled water, etc.).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in process safety software and tools.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in cross-functional teams.
