SENIOR TRUSTS AND ESTATES LITIGATION ATTORNEY
The Senior Trusts & Estates Litigation Attorney must have 6+ years of recent experience in civil litigation, preferably with probate and trust litigation experience. Opportunities for career growth and partner-track are available. The Senior Trusts & Estates Litigation Attorney must have strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, excellent research and writing skills, and experience in court appearances and drafting of motions, discovery, etc. This position requires that the Senior Trusts & Estates Litigation Attorney be extremely detail-oriented, organized, critical about accuracy, spelling and grammar and possess the ability to prioritize and follow up. This is a very fast paced environment, and the Senior Trusts & Estates Litigation Attorney must be able to multitask and manage a voluminous caseload. This role requires a self-starter who is willing and open to learning new skills as well as taking initiative and being proactive.
In addition to the above, the Senior Trusts & Estates Litigation Attorney may also be responsible for reviewing and overseeing the work product of associate attorneys, delegating assignments, mentoring, and training of associate attorneys and legal support personnel in the Trusts & Estates Litigation department.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience with LexisNexis or Westlaw, and law firm client management software preferred.
- Active member of the California State Bar.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Proficiency in California Rules of Court and local rules.
- Knowledge of the California probate and trust administration process preferred, but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to effectively work with support staff.
- Client management skills from intake through resolution.
- Positive attitude, intellectually curious, dependable and motivated.
- Proficient in the MS Office Suite with an emphasis on Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Solid command of English including excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, form and style.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work well with a team and individually.
- Ability to set goals and mentor others.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work well with a team and on your own.
