Mechanics Bank is currently searching for a Sr. Trust Operations Specialist to join our team. Here at Mechanics Bank, we value connection, partnership, long term relationships and working together in person. This role will be working on-site at our Walnut Creek Office location.
The Sr. Trust Operations Specialist is responsible for reviewing and verifying security trades. This position will document, verify, and post corporate actions. Conducts monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliations.
What you will do:
- Reviews and verifies securities trades to ensure accuracy regarding securities bought or sold, including number and price of shares, accounts, approved brokers, sufficient funds in the accounts, etc.
- Conducts account transfers following instructions from Trust Officers, Trust Assistants, EBT Officers and Retirement Administrators. Ensures activity is coordinated with custodians.
- Documents, verifies, and processes corporate actions that affect client’s securities, such as stock splits and mergers and acquisitions.
- Verifies, balances, and resolves exceptions of all securities reconciliations for assets held by IMT. Validates, balances, and processes fees and fee accruals for all accounts.
- Processes and reconciles a variety of transactions, including Certificate of Deposit, money market interest posting, Fed and State tax payments to IRS and EDD, and Domestic and Foreign Wires.
Who you are:
- Minimum 3 Years of applicable experience required. High School or GED required, Associate Degree Preferred
- Knowledge of Trust Accounting policies, practices, and procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of securities processing
- Skill in applying mathematical formulas.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to understand and interpret Trust instructions and related documentation.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Pay Range: $25.00 - $38.50 hourly
Final compensation package will be determined by the work experience, education, and/or skill level of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.
