Job overview
As a Technical Senior Product Manager for the Enterprise Common Services team within A&I at Macy’s,
you will be responsible for identifying opportunities for optimization, reusability, and streamlining
services common across the Enterprise. This role will create a product vision, execute corporate
strategy, and adhere to Enterprise Architectural standards while pushing towards technical innovation.
In partnership with business and technical leadership, you will define the capability roadmap for the
services, synthesize business needs into technical requirements, and then represent the customer
experience and business priorities to technical teams – who will execute on that Enterprise vision.
You will lead cross-functional collaboration with design, architects, engineering, analytics, data
scientists, business partners, and other Product Managers to align on product requirements to support
development and launch features.
The ideal candidate will be a self-sufficient individual contributor who can manage relationships with a
diverse set of stakeholders and manage through uncertainty. They will also have strong product
intuition, be advocates for the consumer, and evangelize the adoption of Enterprise Common Services.
This role will report into the Director of Technical Product Management.
Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years of product management experience, with a focus on driving growth and engagement
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decisions
- Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work
effectively with cross-functional teams
- Able to leverage technical specifications and architecture to collaborate with technical teams
- Experience in an agile development environment and delivering product iteratively
- Solid understanding of retail and ecommerce
What you will do
- Collaborate to define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for product portfolio business needs
against technical requirements based on organization goals
- Drive product discovery for defined customer problems, drawing deep insights and ideas that
impact the product roadmap and individual feature development
- Analyze customer needs across multiple domains and translate them into technical
requirements for common services
- Communicate product vision, roadmap, and progress to partners across Macy’s
- Work cross-functionally to align internal teams, including developers, architects, engineers, QA,
and operations
- Contribute to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a
product
- Understand data pipelines and architectural diagrams, and work with architects, engineers, data
science, data governance, and automated systems
- Identify, evaluate, and tackle risk
- Collaborate with design, engineering, and analytics teams to design, develop, and launch
product features that drive growth and technical optimization
- Work with the Engineering team to manage delivery features are on time with high quality
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of product features
and experiments
- Own the agenda in large working team setting, driving the conversation and decision-making
- Pressure test engineers and QE, and meaningfully contribute to technical requirements
- Own the creation and maintenance of product documentation
- Actively conduct market and consumer research to look for gaps
- Mentor less-tenured Product Managers
Location
This is a hybrid role based out of Macy’s Technology in Johns Creek, Georgia or out of
headquarters at our flag ship store in Herald Square, New York City.
Travel is expected twice a year for this role.
