Senior Technical Designer
We would like to meet a detail oriented Senior Technical Designer. You will manage the fit sample process from development to pre-production samples. You will attend fittings and work with cross functional team members to have the best class fit. We are looking for someone who is motivated, a team player, able to take direction, and has excellent time management skills. The ideal candidate will have experience developing team members and have a strong sense of prioritizing the workload. Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Designer to ensure great fitting quality products are reflective of the design intent.
- Send tech packs to corresponding vendors that include detailed garment measurements and construction.
- Ability to build technical sketches in Illustrator.
- Responsible for sending clear fit comments with illustrations to factories promptly through email and other forms of communication.
- Spec garments before all fittings, take and track notes to ensure final fit, quality, and construction meets brand quality standards.
- Perform accurate measurements to ensure that size grading standards are within tolerance levels for specific fabric types.
- Participate in fit sessions by fitting on a live model, recording comments and communicating with team and vendors.
- Maintain a shared file of all fit tech packs for design and production.
- Track and monitor execution to time-and-action calendar; record and track all packages, track fit and pre-production (PP) samples or other reference samples as required; keep an archive of fit samples.
- Analyze fit, construction, workmanship issues, and accurately communicating all PP and TOP corrects to factories overseas.
- Keep organized and detailed records.
- Work within tight calendar time constraints prioritizing workload to meet fast approaching deadlines with a sense of urgency.
- Successfully build excellent working relationships with in-house colleagues in design/merch/sourcing as well as overseas vendors.
- Manage and develop Assistant Technical Designer/Technical Designer in all technical, administrative, and workflow skills.
- Troubleshoot daily issues and partner with the direct manager to attain the best solution or course of action for a quick resolution.
- Assist Sourcing Director on various departmental tasks as necessary.

Skills & Abilities:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Technical Design or Fashion Design or Associate's Degree (two year college or technical school) : Required
Experience: 5+ years of experience (in Technical Design and Product Development)
Computer Skills: Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, Microsoft Excel
Other Requirements: High-level knowledge of fabrics and garment construction; team player that will do what it takes to get the job done.
Pay: $60K - 75K a year
