Job description

GSK is hiring a Senior Tax / Transfer Pricing Analyst who is passionate to grow and learn across all areas of corporate tax. The Senior Analyst will perform a wide range of tax related functions including but not limited to assisting with completing the company's corporate tax returns, development and implementation of varioUS Tax planning strategies, calculating the company's tax provision, assisting with various transfer pricing projects, documentation and aiding with audit responses to taxing authorities. This Senior Tax Analyst will help drive process improvements and automation by using tools such as OneSource Tax Provision, Alteryx, Power BI, and SAP. An ideal candidate has a strong understanding of US federal and state & local, tax laws and analyzing/interpreting changes to tax laws as necessary.
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Work directly with lead for US Transfer Pricing on profitability reviews, integration initiatives and audit requests.
  • Undertake financial data modelling and sensitivity analysis for various transfer pricing planning projects.
  • Support the end-to-end transfer pricing process by assisting with operational transfer pricing matters such as policy implementation, testing, and monitoring.
  • Assist Tax Planning/Special Projects team on a variety of value-add initiatives.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of corporate income tax concepts and actively pursues increased technical tax knowledge through assignments and current tax developments.
  • Assist with preparing and calculating of quarterly tax provisions in accordance with IFRS standards, valuation allowance analyses and uncertain tax provisions.
  • Assist with monthly reconciliation of tax accounts and work with offshore support teams for any necessary reclass entries.
  • Manage collecting support for SOX controls and working directly with internal and external audit on requests/questions.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax basis balance sheet study.
  • Work with members of the business to gather information necessary (trial balances, fixed asset reports, compensation schedules, etc.) to prepare tax provisions, tax estimated payments, and federal and state tax returns and extensions.
  • Assist outside consultants in the preparation, review and timely filing of income tax returns, estimated payments, etc. for both federal and state & local taxes.
  • Manage tax payment process to ensure payments are made timely to tax authorities, including training and supervision of offshore support teams.
  • Manage tax notice process by maintaining notice log and calling tax authorities where necessary to find resolution on notices.
  • Assist with formulating responses and support for audit requests from federal, state & local tax authorities.
  • Assist in process improvement initiatives using tools such as Alteryx, to reduce manual efforts associated with Tax Compliance using enabled tools, while also managing structure maintained within OneSource Tax Provision.

Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Corporate Income Tax / Transfer Pricing for a Big 4 accounting firm or multinational company.

Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
  • CPA and some transfer pricing experience a plus
  • MS in Taxation or pursuing such degree a plus.
  • Familiar with OneSource Tax Provision software
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Familiar with Alteryx or Power BI
  • Familiar with SAP / S4 HANA applications a plus
  • Familiar with tax research software (RIA or CCH) a plus
  • Good problem solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated good team interaction skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
