About the Team

It’s an exciting time to join our rapidly growing Tax team and be a part of the fast growth the Company is experiencing, particularly with our ever expanding Indirect Tax responsibilities!  As a growing company, we are looking towards helping the business grow and solve complex challenges, while building out a sustainable infrastructure to support the DoorDash of the future. 

About the Role

The role will be part of the Global Indirect Tax function, supporting DoorDash’s ever-growing Indirect Tax responsibilities worldwide.  The key area of focus of this role will be to support management of DoorDash’s Indirect Tax reporting responsibilities, implement improvements to system, processes, control, and automation, with an eye towards long-term sustainability and scalability, and provide audit support and take learnings from controversy results to help DoorDash grow.  The role will have ownership of key deliverables that make an immediate impact. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for experience in building out in-house tax functions, and be creative with ideas and solutions.

You will report into Senior Tax Manager, Indirect Tax on our Global Indirect Tax team in our Tax organization. We expect this role to be hybrid with some time in-office and some time remote (if you are located near an office) or 100% remote.

A successful candidate will be able to identify areas of system, process, control, automation, improvements towards long-term sustainability and scalability, help manage key Indirect Tax reporting responsibilities, and support efforts in audit defense. The candidate will need to be able to build successful relationships within Tax and across the broader company.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
  • Perform periodic forecast of tax expense and monthly reconciliation of transaction upload reports to revenue reports, and reconciliation of Indirect Tax accounts for Financial Reporting
  • Support various Indirect Tax audits, working closely with internal personnel, providing supporting documentation under the guidance of the Senior Tax Manager
  • Assist with responses to tax inquiries from customers, vendors, and internal departments & tax jurisdictions
  • Assist with other ad hoc projects
  • Support various system, process, controls, and automation implementation initiatives
We’re excited about you because…
  • You have your BA/BS Degree in Accountancy, or a similar field of study.
  • You have experience in working in an ERP environment, Snowflake, Alteryx, and other automation tools and systems.
  • You have 5+ years of Tax experience, with Indirect Tax, tax expense, and tax control management experience a plus.
  • You have experience in using various productivity programs, (Microsoft Office, Google (G-sheets, docs, slides, etc).
  • You’re proficient with tax research tools.
  • You have strong attention to detail and analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • You’re an independently motivated person with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize work independently.
  • You’re curious and driven to find the right answer.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You have any of the following (preferred) qualifications:
    • CPA and/or MS in Tax preferred.
    • CMI, or CMI candidate
    • Experienced working audits, controversy

Compensation

The location-specific base salary range for this position is listed below.  Compensation in other geographies may vary.

Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.  For roles that are available to be filled remotely, base salary is localized according to employee work location.  Please discuss your intended work location with your recruiter for more information.

$73,400—$129,600 USD
Colorado Pay Range:
$73,400—$116,600 USD
Hawaii Pay Range:
$73,400—$110,200 USD
New Jersey Pay Range:
$73,400—$129,600 USD
New York Pay Range:
$73,400—$129,600 USD
Washington Pay Range:
$73,400—$123,100 USD
