POSITION SUMMARY
Ensure timely completion of federal, state, and local income tax returns, sales and use tax returns and property tax renditions for the US Sigma Food Division. Assist in the year end and quarterly income tax provisions and reporting packages to company’s foreign parent .
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Prepare federal/state corporate income tax return work papers. Identify and gather necessary information and documentation to substantiate and support the tax return and tax provision processes.
- Prepare the taxable income calculations for the income tax provisions under IFRS and compile the necessary work-paper documentation and calculations in support of book-to-tax adjustments.
- Review indirect tax returns, information reports (1099s, 1042s), Property Tax renditions, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting or Business Administration or four (4) years’ equivalent work-related experience
- Two (2) years’ experience in Corporate Taxation in either a large corporation setting or national accounting firm
License/Certifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters’ Degree in Tax, Accounting or Business Administration
- Experience using SAP
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITITES (KSA’s)
- Tax research and tax compliance software knowledge
- Ability to build professional relationships with tax team members and cross functional teams while facilitating a collaborative environment
- Proven analytical skills with attention to details
- Ability to self-motivate and possess independent problem solving
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate across all levels of the organization, present complex ideas concisely and clearly articulate ideas verbally and in writing
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), proficiency with Data Analysis, Pivot tables, and complex graphs
- Knowledge of Basic income tax provision and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)
