SAIC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer, with Operational Joint Fires experience, that is passionate about mobile platforms and mobile development. They will be working with our team of talented engineers to design and build the next generation mobile applications for the United States Marine Corps. The application will support a handheld ground fires / close air support, Program of Record, software suite designed to make it easier for Marines to do their job effectively and reduce human errors. This is a remote position that can be worked from any location in the U.S.
Responsibilities:
- Develop products that help software engineering teams architect, design, and build advanced applications for the Android platform.
- Directly engage with software Product Owner (software team lead) to shape and prioritize development tasks.
- Identify operational requirements and translate them into software development tasks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, designs, and new features.
- Work as an agile team member on a Scrum team.
- Lead event support efforts: ensure the system and capabilities are appropriately integrated into events such as Bold Quest, Island Marauder, WTI, etc.
- Also ensure the assigned team understands the event concept of support and all aspects of the event are appropriately resourced.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more related experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more related experience. An additional four (4) years of experience may be applied in lieu of a Bachelors.
Required Skills:
- Recent experience and proficiency with Fires digital systems such as Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS) and dismounted fire supports systems such as Strike Link or PFED.
- Recent experience and proficiency with Marine Corps fielded radios (117F, 117G and 152A) and setting up tactical communications networks.
- Experience with military maps/imagery and methods for obtaining geographic coordinates.
- Recent military experience in ground fire support and digitally aided close air support.
- Advanced operational knowledge and troubleshooting of Android based handheld devices.
- Experience with military training and training development.
- Able to work independently and efficiently with short term deadlines.
- Willingness to travel (50%).
CLEARANCE:
- Ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship required.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Experience in developing training materials.
- Experience with DI2E developer tools, especially JIRA and Zephyr.
- Familiarization with the Agile development process.
- Proficiency with Gusto Air.
Target salary range: $125,001 - $150,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
