Team (Project) Introduction
The Office of Performance Analysis and Integrity manages and enhances the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) which resides on one Oracle M8 Supercluster database and thirteen application servers. Our team provides the technical services required to sustain EDW applications to include Project Management, Data Warehouse Management, Advanced Analytics, Tableau Server Administration/Tableau Desktop Administration, Technical Collaboration Support, Lessons Learned, Executive Orders and Special Projects, Architectural Enhancement, and Cloud Migration. We also provide management, enhancement, integration, implementation, maintenance, modernization, and infrastructure support for EDW applications as well as enhancement and maintenance of business intelligence capabilities and predictive analytics.
9th Way Insignia is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join this team. This position is contingent upon award from the government.
Professional Level Information:
An Engineer 3 typically plans and directs research or development work on complex projects, along with engaging various parties in design and development. Costs and recommendations of new components may also involve part of the job scope. Performs multiple engineering-related tasks in various assignments within the project and firm. An Engineer 3 oversees the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems. An Engineer 3 has broad knowledge of engineering procedures and assists in the resolution of complex problems. An Engineer 3 has strong technical skills and background, a knack for learning new technologies, and a blend of good problem-solving and innovation needed to resolve a wide variety of technical production challenges.
Functional Job (LCAT) Information:
A Senior Systems Engineer provides technical support in system architecture, system design, system integration and technical management. Assists in providing technical input to the Systems Engineering process. Leads teams in developing application and technical plans. Guide customers in the installation and use of strategic products through education and guidance, first-use and tuning assistance problem solving and critical situation resolution.
Responsibilities:
- Cross-platform Systems Administration in including Windows and UNIX/Linux
- Deployment and configuration
- Enterprise Data Architecture
- Operations Management.
- Assist with storage and systems backup (Hardware and Software, EML Tape Skills)
- Provide remote as well as on-site support to customers
- Working with vendors to provide solutions to meet customer needs
- Evaluating and implementing hardware and software deployments
- Creates shell scripting and task automation through informatica
- Provide recommendations and identify critical issues and processing faults as it pertains to the UNIX environment
- Possess experience with migration to the Cloud
- Strong UNIX and Linux background
- Experience in a large enterprise
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $118,737 – 146,000
