AFS is seeking a System Engineer to be part of a team of highly qualified professionals that provide expertise in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, and Systems Engineering.
The Work:
- Assess and calculate the technical features of a project plan to ensure that the systems engineering procedures are operating correctly
- Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
- Participate in the modernization and design of information and operational support systems
- Assist the customer in evaluating existing systems and provide technical direction in conjunction with the Cloud Solution Architects
- Ensure a rapid response to any technical issues
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
Here's what you need:
- Satisfaction of 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification (upon start date)
- One or more of the following certifications:
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
- Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)
- Master Certified Electronics Technician (CETma)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field AND 4+ years of relevant experience; OR, in lieu of a degree, 8+ years of relevant experience
- Willingness to travel (CONUS) up to 25%
- Willingness to work onsite (neither Remote not Hybrid arrangements are possible with this role)
Bonus points if you have:
- 3+ years leadership experience, especially in a Customer Facing role
- 3+ years of experience with air-gapped cloud
- 3+ years of Project Management or Solution Delivery experience
- Experience with Azure or other cloud environments
- Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) or Configuration as Code (CaC)
- Azure certifications:
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Azure Administrator Associate
- Azure Fundamentals
Security Clearance:
- Must have an active TS/SCI clearance

Role Location: Range of Starting Pay for role:
California: $122,600 - $234,900
Colorado: $122,600 - $202,900
New York: $113,500 - $234,900
Washington: $130,500 - $215,900
