Responsibilities:
Specific Roles and Responsibilities for Senior MSSQL Database Engineer position include but are not limited to:
- Technical focal point for all issues relating to Microsoft SQL Database Management Systems (DBMS) in coordination with other technicians.
- Install, configure, provision, operate, administer database management systems and their related software as well as backend storage server and hardware platforms.
- Perform capacity and performance trending, conduct predictive analysis.
- Provide support to the development and implementation of database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases including software updates.
- Provide technical expertise in support of the design of complex physical data models that describe the structure for data storage, data indexing, data manipulation, and data retrieval applications.
- Work with system owners and project managers to develop and implement complex querying and report solutions. Share concepts and techniques as well as foster and encourage sharing of knowledge.
- Communicate regularly with the development team, business, and operations teams to ensure the security and confidentiality of data. Responsible for the availability, reliability and integrity of business data stored in production databases.
- Ensure that new database code meets standards for readability, reliability, and performance.
- Ensure timely delivery of reports and manage conflicting priorities and customer expectations.
- Research and identify root cause/data issues.
- Understand the business needs and using the knowledge of the data, prepare meaningful reports using datasets available through existing systems and datasets external to the customer unit.
- Coordinate with offshore team based on the project needs.
- Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of overall experience, or a Master’s and 2+ year overall experience.
- 5-8 years of experience in database monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and high availability strategies for MS SQL Server Cloud/on-premises.
- Meet with key stakeholders from all departments to gather, analyze, and determine data and information requirements in support of the roadmap, as well as business-as-usual requests.
- Ability to manage multiple deliveries on-time as well as prioritize tasks accordingly.
- Strong demonstrated experience working with relational databases (i.e., Microsoft SQL Server 2017/2019+) and ability to write, troubleshoot, and optimize complex queries and stored procedures.
- SSIS and SSRS design and implementation experience.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with a team of software developers.
- Heavy, extensive experience with writing and analyzing MS SQL
- Ability to manage multiple deliveries on-time as well as prioritize tasks accordingly.
- Experience with database development tools (SQL Server) and ETL Tools Like SSIS.
- Must take pride in the quality of your work and ensure that each solution meets functional and technical needs.
- Experience in Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, and ETL processing.
- Knowledge of accounting concepts, Costpoint, SharePoint, Power BI, and DOMO reporting is a plus.
Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or similar required
