Job Description
We are looking for a talented, diligent System Administrator to maintain and administer our company's networked system of computers. The System Administrator's responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues, as well as ensuring that all computing operations run with optimal performance and security.
To be successful as a System Administrator, you should have an excellent ability to solve problems using your in-depth understanding of information systems and computing solutions. The best System Administrator will also be a team player, willing to handle all support requests with courtesy and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
- Configuring and maintaining the networked computer system, including hardware, system software, and applications.
- Ensuring data is stored securely and backed up regularly.
- Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, networking, and system issues when they arise.
- Replacing and upgrading defective or outdated components when necessary.
- Monitoring system performance to ensure everything runs smoothly and securely.
- Researching and recommending new approaches to improve the networked computer system.
- Providing technical support when requested.
- Collaborate closely with the department to strategize and execute the implementation of dependable corporate applications, systems, and essential infrastructure.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry practices, protocols, and standards through thorough research on products, services, and methodologies. Engage and negotiate with vendors, contractors, and outsourcers to effectively meet the enterprise application needs.
- Continuously monitor, administer, and provide support for existing enterprise solutions, ensuring they meet the required service level agreements. This involves overseeing Exchange, Active Directory, DFS, Group Policy Objects (GPO), Internet Information Services (IIS), Domain Name System (DNS), and web applications.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for applications, services, networks, processes, security, and compliance configurations.
- Establish and enforce policies, procedures, and training plans that govern the administration and usage of core enterprise applications and systems.
- Accurately capture and categorize all work requests in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Consistent on-site attendance and punctuality are fundamental aspects of this role.
- Occasional travel to client offices may be required, but it is limited to less than 15% of the time.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience administering server-side technology and networked computing systems.
- Relevant degree or diploma in Information systems or information technology.
- Microsoft MCSE certification or similar preferred.
- Familiarity with SQL, Active Directory, Azure, Hyper-V, database operations, networking and security.
- Ability to prioritize a wide range of workloads with critical deadlines.
- Availability outside of working hours to resolve emergency issues promptly.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Patient and professional demeanor, with a can-do attitude.
