The Senior Strategic Business Analyst will report into the Chief Strategy Officer and will be responsible for leveraging quantitative and qualitative analysis to provide thought leadership on evolving industry trends, market developments, Hearthside’s strategic direction, regulatory environment, and macroeconomic trends for the business unit. This role will provide insights and information-based context for key stakeholders in the business unit to effectively manage, influence, and impact line of business strategy and delivery of financial results. This is an onsite role based in Downers Grove, IL.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborates with stakeholders to identify key business assumptions and hypotheses around line of business strategy. Evaluates and uncovers strategic insights related to Profit & Loss. performance including Product Strategy, Pricing, Marketing, Sales, Credit Risk, Distribution Channels, and Customer Experience.
• Lead strategic confidential projects in partnership with key stakeholders.
• Assists with refining hypotheses and identifying business questions to explore further.
• Assists in the development of the analytical framework and blueprint to answer business questions identified in the annual and 3-5 year business plan.
• Leverages advanced data-driven problem-solving techniques to manipulate and interpret business results.
• Translates findings into insights for strategy management and execution.
• Prepares materials that help communicate the significance of the strategic insights to executive leadership and board of directors. Leading or participating key stakeholder meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Data Science, Finance, Economics or related discipline
• 4 years experience in data and/or analytics or strategy consulting; OR Advanced Degree in Business, Science, Finance, Economics or related discipline with 2 years experience in data and/or analytics or strategy consulting.
• Experience identifying business needs and developing strategic plans driven by qualitative/ quantitative analysis and market insights.
• Demonstrated experience using data analytics to formulate data-driven insights.
• Experience performing data analysis using various data analytics tools (i.e. Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, R, Python, SQL, Snowflake, SAS, Adobe Analytics).
• Experience in project management.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• 1-3 years of data analytics or science experience using SQL, SAS, and visualization tools (Tableau).
• 1-3 years of consulting/ Strategic Insights experience, or Loss Control/Recovery experience in a large financial institution.
• Ability to quickly develop an understanding of front-line end-to-end business processes and drivers of potential operational optimization.
• Critical and strategic thinking ability and understanding of operations processes and strategies, especially as applying to P&L impact in manufacturing environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and social skills required with ability to present sophisticated and critical issues to management.
