- Complete monthly financial close activities including month end closing journal entries and reporting.
- Perform monthly analysis of assigned general ledger account variances and reconcile changes.
- Complete account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items timely and independently.
- Maintain monthly recurring and ad-hoc journal entries supported by adequate documentation.
- Maintain the lease database and ensure that new leases are accounted for in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare for and participate in the external accounting audit.
- Lead the income tax return preparation process in partnership with the tax consulting firm. Ensure that returns are filed in the appropriate states in a timely manner.
- File annual property tax listings with the counties.
- Coordinate annual report and franchise tax filings to ensure the no filings are missed between CT Corp, Forvis, and company-filed documents.
- Maintain the matrix by state showing where we are registered to do business, where we file income tax returns, where we file sales tax returns, etc.
- Complete annual questionnaires for insurance applications and worker's comp audits.
- Business or Finance degree required with 3 to 5 years related work experience.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; ability to manage priorities.
- Ability to work independently; self-motivated.
- Demonstrate versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within a changing work environment.
- Able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers across all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing.
- Excel skills at Intermediate/Advanced level, including use of pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Systems, including Office and Windows and previous experience with accounting systems (ex. Microsoft NAV, Oracle, SAP)
- Adherence to laws and confidentiality guidelines
- Hybrid role with in-office required 3 days per week.
- Occasional domestic travel.
