About the Role & Team
Disney Consumer Products (DCP) is the division of Disney Experiences (DX) that brings beloved brands and franchises into the daily lives of families and fans through products – from toys to t-shirts, apps, books, console games, and more – and experiences that can be found around the world, including on the Disney Store e-commerce platform and at Disney Parks, local and international retailers, as well as Disney Store locations globally. The business is home to world-class teams of product, licensing, and retail experts, artists and storytellers, and technologists who inspire imaginations around the world.
The ideal candidate will be a strong writer and have experience in Public Affairs, media relations, or public relations, as well as experience with issues management. The candidate should also be able to synthesize large amounts of information into compelling and actionable insights, and an understanding of the media landscape.

What You Will Do
In this role, you will:
- Craft communications campaigns tied to key business drivers and Public Affairs priorities
- Help to identify proactive storytelling opportunities to enhance DCP’s reputation
- Conduct detailed and reliable research to provide actionable insights and information to internal partners
- Draft messaging, media pitches, briefing documents, and presentations
- Consistently consume traditional and social media to stay apprised of evolutions in the consumer and media landscapes
- Help maintain editorial calendars, messaging archives, and media resources
- Collaborate with Public Relations, Corporate Citizenship, Internal Communications, Executive Communications, Inclusive Strategies, Franchise, and Licensing teams to help ensure proactive and reactive integrated communications efforts for DCP
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 3+ years of related communications experience
- Excellent project management and research skills
- Outstanding writing and editing skills (AP Style proficient)
- Experience with developing and pitching media stories, and crafting media lists
- Proven ability to synthesize complex information and present it in a clear, concise, and readable manner
- Ability to work in collaboration with partners across the organization
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally on occasion
- Excellent PC and Mac literacy; Internet and social media savvy with experience using HTML, SharePoint or other Content Management System, Microsoft Office suite, Keynote, etc.
- Ability to navigate a fast paced, action-oriented environment
- Experience with problem-solving and coming up with creative solutions
- Ability to present plans, share ideas, and represent the team at various internal meetings
- Prior experience using social listening tools and media databases such as Cision and MuckRack
- Intellectual curiosity
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working in:
- The consumer products or retail industry, with an understanding of the media landscape and consumer sentiment
- Corporate Communications, Media Relations, and/or Issues Management
Education
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in journalism, corporate communications, or public relations
