Senior Special Events Program Coordinator

Marshall Graduate Programs Career Services
The Marshall School of Business is seeking a Senior Special Events Program Coordinator to support the Graduate Career Services Office.This position is responsible for overseeing, from planning to execution, a variety of events for Graduate Career Services . Events include: major conferences, networking events, workshops, coffee chats, etc.
Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Plans, manages and directs Special Events; oversees logistical planning and determines staffing needs
  • Develops event concept designs, coordinates mailings of promotional materials and invitations
  • Work s with and provide s guidance to event volunteers, sponsors, club leaders, etc .
  • Negotiates contracts with vendors for goods and services to ensure contract terms are satisfied

  • Oversees day-of event logistics and coordination to ensure details are executed as planned
  • Develop s and control s event budget based upon established limits
  • De velops and maintains an extensive network of contacts, both internal and external, to facilitate event coordination
  • Maintains records on event activities, progress and status
  • Manage s the departmental planning calendar

  • Interfaces with student services and campus organizations to coordinate career placement programs
  • Some t ravel may be required two times per year for alumni event management and execution

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of demonstrated event planning and execution experience
  • Our ideal candidate must be extremely organized, detail oriented, budget conscious and a self-starter

  • Familiarity with and comfortability using PowerPoint and Excel
  • Knowledge of various event registration/management software platforms , with the ability to recommend the best platform based upon the organization's evolving needs
  • Minimum qualifications listed below

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum Educa tion: Bachelor's degree

  • Minimum Experience: 2 years
  • Minimum Field of Expertise: Experience with Special Events planning, fundraising management and/or alumni volunteer relations management. Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communications .

Anticipated Hiring Range:
T he annual base salary range for this position is $76,126.56 - $90,000.00. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
