The National Systems Group serves as the technical adviser to the Intelligence Community and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, advanced technologies, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch.

As a Senior Space Mission Architect, in the Space Enterprise Defense & Analysis Group, you will work closely across Aerospace DSG, NSG & SSG Customer Program Offices and Mission Partners, and matrix engineering organizations to assure sound technical direction is being implemented in enterprise system of system acquisitions to extend space capabilities in times of conflict. This position requires 100% on site work in Chantilly, VA.
What You'll Be Doing

  • Serve as a space control command & control (C2) Mission Architect assisting in the acquisition of complex national space capability
  • Research, document, and instantiate space system and multi-domain architectures for the space control mission area
  • Collaborate with government, SETA, Aerospace, and other FFRDC mission partner representatives to shape integrated end to end Mission Architectures
  • Design and execute trade studies and analysis of alternatives for space system command and control (C2) architectures and space system protection.
  • Work with matrix engineering and technology group (ETG) subject matter experts (SMEs) to analyze performance in end-to-end space systems and disseminate results through presentations and publications.
  • Brief technical initiatives, status and corrective recommendations to government and Aerospace management

What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM or applicable subject area
  • Twelve or more years of related experience including National Security Space systems
  • Experience in systems of systems engineering
  • Experience using effective verbal and written communication skills to align a portfolio of stakeholders to consensus on technical topics
  • Willingness to travel domestically approximately 10%
  • This position requires a current and active TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
  • Advanced STEM or related degree
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) associated practices, tools/software
  • Experience with the development, integration, and operation of DoD and/or IC space and/or ground capabilities
  • Coordinated government, FFRDC, and SETA teamwork
  • Current ability to obtain and maintain eligibility for Department of Defense (DoD) Special Access Programs (SAP)
