We're looking for an awesome Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer that's passionate about being a security expert in the sales cycle, solving our customer's hardest business problems with our products and solutions, and helping close our enterprise deals.
As a Solution Engineer, you're responsible for deeply understanding your customers and how they are leveraging Atlassian's suite of products. You will be working alongside the Enterprise Account Manager to nurture and grow existing relationships and work diligently to build new ones. Through strategic account planning, client management, and consistent demonstration of value creation, you will help drive the execution of our profound goals.
You'll be the subject matter expert on the security of our products and responsible for liaising with the other technical experts in the company to bring to bear the considerable experience Atlassian has in transforming our customers' ways of working.
Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $165,300 - $220,400
Zone B: $148,800 - $198,300
Zone C: $137,200 - $182,900
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

Responsibilities:Investigate, discover, and assess client problems; map client business and technical requirements to Atlassian capabilities
Configure and deliver deeply compelling presentations to customers and prospects, clearly communicating the value and differentiation of the Atlassian platform while showing how we seek their business challenge
Partner with Sales Teams to develop winning account strategies, helping Atlassian to achieve revenue goals
Contribute to the evolution of practices on the Solutions Engineering team through knowledge sharing, feedback loops, etc.
Partner with product management to identify areas of opportunity to advance Atlassian’s product line; be a key source of market feedback into the product organization.
Contribute to Atlassian’s thought leadership including representing Atlassian at Agile conferences and partner training; supplying to white papers, analyst relations, and blog posts; enabling sales teams, etc.
Contribute to Atlassian’s knowledge base including researching competitors, drafting knowledge base articles, helping build services agreements, and more.
We're looking for a dynamic team member who will both teach and learn from all of us on the Solutions Engineering team. On paper, you have at least five years of proven experience with a framework (HIPAA, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53 etc) and guiding a customer through the entire lifecyle . More importantly, you are a creative problem solver who can interpret complex problem statements, boil them down into simple solutions, and collaborate with prospects, channel partners, and the Atlassian sales team to deliver winning solutions. You’re equally comfortable in both a business and technical context, interacting with executives or talking shop with strong technical audiences. You love to learn, are open to giving and receiving feedback, tolerate failure, love to win, hate to lose, and are passionate about making clients successful.
Additional Security Specific Qualifications:
Familiarity with Federal IT security guidelines to include FedRAMP and the ATO process for self managed solutions.
You have experience with multiple regulated industries and their associated frameworks. I.E. Think healthcare and HIPAA. You also have a passion for learning the frameworks you don’t have experience in.
Knowledge of the Federal procurement process is a bonus
Still, reading? You’ll need deep familiarity with Atlassian products and compliance frameworks (i.e. FedRAMP). You understand the process by which software gets defined, built, deployed, and secure. Bonus if you have experience or familiarity with the Scaled Agile, ITSM, or DevOps solution spaces. As an extra bonus, you can wow us with your vision for how these solution spaces come together.
