Our project is developing a new class of robotic platforms for social interaction, with a potentially massive market opportunity with positive social impact. Your role is to develop frontend tools to enable a diverse set of expert and non-expert users to develop content for these robotics platforms. These tools will have wide impact, internally supporting a substantial global effort that includes locations in Silicon Valley, Boston, Shenzhen, and Beijing, as well as enabling external content creation for the platform. You will be responsible for whole frontend development pipelines including design, prototyping, evaluation, and production.
Job Responsibilities
Develop frontend tools for robotics development supporting a diverse range of users, including but not limited to:
Interaction design GUIs for non-technical content creators
Visualization and debug tools for robotics perception and controls systems
Mobile companion applications
Design and implement intuitive and performant graphical user interfaces
Research and select appropriate frameworks to meet product requirements
Collaborate with roboticists and designers on frontend architecture design and integration
Evaluate interfaces, and synthesize user feedback into new requirements to drive continuous iteration and improvement
Write documentation and tests for frontend system
Requirements for position:
BS in Computer science or related field
2+ years of industry frontend software development experience
JavaScript, HTML, CSS, web development skills
Familiarity with web frontend frameworks
Understanding of UI design principles
Photoshop, Illustrator, wireframe / mockup skills
Work authorization in the US
Willingness to work across time zones
Preferred qualifications:
Familiarity with animation frameworks (e.g. Flash, After Effects, TouchDesigner)
Familiarity with game design tools
Java and Android development experience
Experience with WebGL graphics development
Experience designing and running experiments to evaluate UIs
Interest and experience in AI / robotics
