What you'll do...
As a Senior Software Engineer part of Sam's Club, you will be responsible for leading the work of other small groups of six to ten engineers, including offshore associates, for assigned Engineering projects by providing pertinent documents, direction, and examples; identifying short- and long- term solutions and timeline; reviewing and approving proposed solutions; implementing new architectural patterns; and performing design and code reviews of changes.

In this particular role, you will be working in the Replenishment Space where we are currently focused on building the next gen Order Management System where we re-imagine the allocation, fulfilment and inventory monitoring & management as we head towards an omnichannel OMS for Sam's.

What you'll do:
- Provide technical leadership for an agile development team of 6-10 engineers responsible for features and applications used in Sam's Distribution Centers and Clubs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Management, Market Operations) to gather requirements, create software design specifications and high level estimates.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve scalable, secure, and high-performance APIs, micro services and components using technologies like Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, SQL Database, Cache, MQ etc.
- Perform design and code reviews, suggest improvements to ensure the highest level of quality and maintainability.
- Oversee development lifecycles, Analyze application logs, maintenance activity data, performance data and provide analysis; Evaluate change requests to identify those which are valid and feasible.
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor of Science and 7 years' experience in Software Engineering OR Master of Science and 5 years' experience in Software Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience with developing and supporting complex systems using Java programming language.
- 5+ years of experience in hands on coding/development
- 5+ years of experience with Java/JEE/ NodeJS, Spring Framework.
- 5+ years of experience with Databases: Relational (Azure SQL, Postgres).
- 3+ years of experience with Cloud: Azure Cloud Platform, Google Cloud Platform.
- 3+ years of experience with micro-services architectures, event-based architecture/ messaging frameworks (Kafka), Kubernetes, Docker)
- Monitoring & Alerting: Dynatrace, Splunk etc.
- CI/CD experience.
- Experience with TDD and automated testing frameworks.
- Experience with DevOps.
- Experience working in a KPI driven highly agile environment.
