Job Description:
JOB TITLE:Senior Software Engineer
LOCATION: Dallas, TX (hybrid role, may work from home)
DUTIES: Design, write program code, test, document, and implement functionally appropriate, technically sound, and well-integrated application systems; identify and prevent production problems and implement immediate resolution efforts across technology areas; mentor Software Engineers, with holistic vision of organization and impact, focusing on “shift left” activities while working with the QMO to automate test scripts for CLCS and SIEBEL release certification; provide timely feedback to POD, QMO certification, ETO and DEV team on testing best practices, defect triage and defect escalation/resolution; research future migration to AWS and what is needed to move CLCS and SIEBEL to the cloud; research and analyze implementing solutions for reading properties from database or Spring cloud config files to avoid JMX operations; analyze and recommend efficiencies for release management and implementation strategies specific to the SIEBEL and CLCS ecosystem for production and all lower environments with the goal to reduce downtime; lead consistent forms of communication within and between CLCS, SIEBEL, AIS, digital and marketing teams while facilitating tech sessions for updates, demos and collaboration; partner, lead, and collaborate with all levels vertically from team-members up to senior leaders; lead team to find best solution and offer thought leadership while ideating and challenging group think; embody Agile best practices; collaborate with TECC stakeholders and all parties to identify problems, perform root cause analysis, investigate information, perform impact analysis; formulate and execute plans to develop solutions; mentor new developers and analysts; identify strengths and weaknesses of solutions while researching pros/cons of alternative options; understand and estimate efforts for projects.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or as a Software Engineer or developer, systems engineer, tech lead, or in a related/similar position. Experience therein to include 5 years in software development, system integration, and system performance metrics, instrumentation, graphing, monitoring and alerting; performing unit, integration, and performance testing; supporting on-prem applications; performing data analysis related to error logs and DB tables, diagnosing issues from tightly integrated systems, working with Development, Business, and Infrastructure resources to design, build, implement and restore service; and working with Java and messaging platforms such as Tibco EMS or JMS. Hybrid role, ability to work from home.
