Summary:

The Senior Software Engineer will hold a key role in spearheading the development team's efforts to create new software applications from the ground up while also maintaining our existing applications. This position requires a highly experienced Software Engineer with over 7 years of expertise in databases and the MERN stack. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical leadership skills and a commitment to guiding the team toward success. Project Description:

Contribute to the design and development of an innovative web application built for external medical clinics and providers. We focus on creating high-quality enterprise-level software that prioritizes security and delivers a premium user experience.

This role will involve collaborating with our developers and engineers to make crucial decisions regarding the development of not only this software application but also our other projects. In addition, you will help guide the rest of the development team, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a leadership role in their Software Engineering careers.

Basic Function/Responsibilities:

• Lead the architectural design of intricate web applications using the MERN stack, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Offer technical guidance and mentorship to software development teams, nurturing a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Conduct regular code reviews to uphold code quality, compliance with coding standards, and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and enhance web applications across the entire stack.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, guaranteeing optimal application performance.
• Collaborate with our security engineers and analysts to implement and enforce security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design specifications, and system documentation.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure our technology stack remains at the forefront.
• Excel in a team-oriented environment, showcasing attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility and urgency toward our clients and users.
• Demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision, independently, and seek guidance from IT management as necessary.

Required Experience:

• 7-10 years of experience as a Software Engineer required.
• Experience with MongoDB, Express.js, React, and Node.js required.
• Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript is required. TypeScript preferred.
• Experience with RESTful API design and implementation is required.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) required.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture is required.
• Knowledge of software development best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, and version control (e.g., Git) required.
• Experience building enterprise-level software, especially in healthcare, is strongly preferred.
• A track record of designing, deploying, and operating large-scale services with high availability is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor development teams.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and best practices for handling healthcare data is a big plus.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree preferred (Engineering/CS/Information Systems, etc.) or equivalent experience.

Management Responsibilities:

This position will not have any direct reports.

Position Type: This is a full-time position. Working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with in-office attendance required twice per week with the rest of the time being remote. More days in the office may be required as needed. Occasional after-hours coverage may be necessary.

Travel: Offsite training or meeting travel is estimated to be less than 5%.
