While this role offers remote work, occasional travel to our headquarters in Wichita will be required. The frequency of travel will be determined by your supervisor and the dynamic needs of the team. What You Will Do
Technical Expertise:
- Demonstrate advanced skills by independently solving the most complex problems using expert-level skills in our technologies. Serve as a go-to resource for technical expertise within and beyond your group, driving projects to successful completion.
- Take ownership of code repositories and proactively drive the implementation of effective branching strategies, pull request processes, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and other essential Software Engineering work processes.
Technical Leadership:
- Drive the technical execution of large products by ensuring high-quality designs and deliveries that align with product milestones and meet business needs. Take ownership of the technical direction, actively driving and guiding the engineering work to ensure successful outcomes.
- Proactively identify opportunities to drive positive change and provide technical alternatives and improvements to stakeholders within the organization.
- Actively apply and influence FHR best practices to drive positive change.
Mentoring :
- Proactively share knowledge with other engineers and establish yourself as a go-to person for help. Showcase your expertise visibly to the point where others recognize and gravitate towards you for your knowledge, input, and opinions - help others grow and excel in their roles.
- Actively contribute your expertise to the broader community internally and externally. Be proactive in sharing your knowledge through documentation, presentations, and participating in tech forums or conferences.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- 4 + years professional Software Engineering experience
- 2+ years' experience with AWS Serverless Services (Lambda, Dynamo, RDS, API Gateway, CloudFront, and other AWS serverless technologies)
- 2+ years' experience developing in Typescript running in a Node.js runtime
- 2+ years' experience as an engineering mentor
- Experience being a lead engineer on a large project or product
What Will Put You Ahead
- In-depth experience in React for UI development
- In-depth experience in Serverless Stack, CDK, or Serverless Framework
- Knowledge on graph databases (Neo4J preferred)

For this role, we anticipate paying $110,000 - $150,000 per year. This role may be eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
