Senior Software Development Manager - Front End

Emtec is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Development Manager with a strong frontend development background to lead and manage our frontend engineering teams. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the complete development and delivery of innovative, user-friendly, and high-performance front-end solutions. You will be involved and responsible for all the stages of the Software Engineering life cycle starting from requirement gathering to getting the system productionized and maintenance (including troubleshooting any post-production issues with release updates). In this role, you will be closely working with the Platform and Product managers, stakeholders, and Business/Technical analysts to gather the requirements and deliver to business.

Core technology Stack: In this role, you will primarily be focused on Frontend solutions with a primary focus on technologies including ReactJS, CSS, NodeJS, HTML, CSS Preprocessors, NPM, React Hooks.

Workplace: This position will primarily be remote; However, you must be ithin commutable distance to Dallas, TX or Chicago, IL since periodic in-person meetings will be required

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Overseeing the overall design and development of front-end solutions making sure to meet enterprise level standards and quality.
• Overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of front-end projects within scope, budget, and timeline constraints.
• Defining front-end development strategy in alignment with overall business objectives.
• Providing guidance on technical issues, code reviews, and taking design decisions.
• Working closely with product managers and other stakeholders to define project requirements and prioritize tasks.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate front-end solutions seamlessly with backend systems.
• Collaborating with UX/UI designers, product managers, and backend developers to deliver cohesive and seamless user experiences.
• Acting as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating technical concepts into understandable terms.
• Assuring SW Quality - Conducting code reviews to ensure code quality, consistency, and adherence to coding standards. At the same time, collaborating with testing teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, bug-free software.

Must Have Skills:

• 10-15 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years of hands on Software Development experience in front-end technologies (with a focus on web technologies)

• Proven track record of having worked on large-scale transformation programs

• Experience in contributing to the development and implementation of strategies for transforming and modernizing front-end development processes

• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with modern front-end technologies, frameworks, and libraries, such as React, JavaScript primarily and Angular, or Vue.js secondary

• Exposure to a technology stack including React, CSS, Node-JS, Microservices, APIs, SQL Server, Azure Integration Services, and SQL Server

• Must have relevant experience in building applications from ground up and delivered to Production

• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and responsive web designing

• Deep knowledge in application architecture, integration architecture, back-end databases

• Must have led large teams or multiple teams at the same time

• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources effectively, and meet project deadlines

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in other front-end frameworks and libraries such as Angular JS, Vue.JS
• Relevant experience in building the front-end custom in-house libraries for better reusability and defining the UX consistency and standard within the Organization
• Real time experience of UX design tools, developing basic wireframes for presenting innovative user-friendly ideas to stakeholders
• Understanding of user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design principles
• Knowledge of backend development concepts and server-side technologies like ASP.NET Core that can help teams to seamlessly integrate with backend with proper understanding of backend design
• Experience in advanced CSS libraries such as Bootstrap, Tailwind, Semantic UI, Material Design, SAAS etc.
• Experience with SonarQube or similar code quality analysis tools
• Experience on containerizing the Front-end applications with tools like Docker containers
