What's interesting about this role?
This critical role will take a lead position in driving insights from SEO research and performance data on GOBankingRates.com to grow SEO traffic significantly quarter over quarter. This position requires confidence in creating reports and dashboards from both 1st party data and third-party data from sources like Google Analytics, SEMRush, and other SEO data platforms. The success of this role will be determined by achieving traffic growth goals and creating incremental data-driven strategies that Content, Product, Design, and SEO Teams can apply.
To be successful as a Senior SEO Analyst, you should be passionate about technology and digital communications. Outstanding SEO analysts are consistently improving their knowledge and building networks with others in the field.
How Will You Make an Impact?
- Assist with the research, analysis, development, and implementation of strategic action plans to accelerate the achievement of long and short-term SEO objectives for GOBankingRates.com
- Creation and evolving an "SEO Dashboard" to democratize insights across the SEO and Content Teams.
- Conduct fundamental SEO activities: keyword research/ranking/gap analysis, competitive site/SERP analysis, and SEO/algorithm trends relevant to our channel and strategy.
- Watch for traffic trends and search volume fluctuations and proactively recommend content updates to existing content where needed
- Leverage data platforms like SEMRush, Ahrefs, and others to find opportunities to expand keywords, grow traffic, and improve topical performance.
- Understand the major factors influencing organic search, crawling, indexing, and keyword ranking to help increase our search visibility and rankings
- Track site performance and traffic to identify any issues or trends
- Partner with the SEO Team to drive Testing concepts and strategy
- Writing data-based reports to share insights and opportunities on a monthly basis.
What Do You Bring to Us?
- 3-5 years minimum in analytics for publishers, marketers, digital media or similar roles.
- Experience: 5+ years of relevant work experience within a digital advertising/marketing/media company.
- Strong background in analytics, understanding of concepts like Statistical Significance and data modeling.
- BA/BS in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge in utilizing BI tools, such as Tableau.
- Exceptionally high standards in communicating the results of analysis in a clear and effective manner.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and confidence to deliver technical information succinctly and assertively to non-technical audiences.
- Complex problem-solving and critical thinking skills, along with a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Extensive experience working with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to follow specifications and delivery to deadlines
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel, including the ability to use formulas, functions, and pivot tables.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SQL and querying relational databases (nice to have).
- Experience with Google Analytics (nice to have)
- Experience in SEO and/or Content strategy (nice to have)
The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $135,000. Pay offered may vary within the posted range based on a number of factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
