As the Sr Security Awareness & Training Analyst, you play a critical role in bolstering the organization's security posture through your leadership of our Security Awareness program. As an integral member of our dynamic security team, you will spearhead initiatives aimed at creating and delivering a comprehensive Security Awareness and phishing program to help educate employees and protect Patterson Companies against cyber risks.
This position involves leading the strategy and developing Security Awareness content, managing phishing awareness exercises and platforms, collaborating across business units to identify risk and opportunities, creating and delivering engaging presentations, and leveraging technology tools and services to implement Security Awareness deliverables. You will collaborate closely with partners across the organization to ensure effective implementation and tracking of security initiatives as you inspire and foster a culture of awareness.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and execute captivating presentation and training sessions to raise Security Awareness among employees.
  • Forge collaborative relationships across business units to identify and mitigate security risks while capitalizing on improvement opportunities.
  • Design and produce compelling Security Awareness content that resonates with diverse audiences within the organization.
  • Manage and optimize phishing awareness program and platforms to enhance employee resilience against cyber threats.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to ensure seamless implementation and tracking of security initiatives, fostering a robust security culture throughout the organization.
  • Oversees the selection, maintenance, support, and delivery of associated security platforms.
  • Subject matter expert in Security Awareness education and communication tactics and keeps up-to-date knowledge to drive innovation.

Additional functions
In addition to the essential functions listed above, the incumbent may perform the following additional functions.
  • Collaborate with business units to assess security risks and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively.
  • Monitor industry trends and hot topics in security to ensure the organization remains informed and proactive in addressing emerging threats and compliance requirements.
  • Implement and monitor program metrics to evaluate the organization's security posture and identify areas for improvement.
  • Act as a liaison between the security team and various business units to facilitate communication and collaboration on security-related initiatives.
  • Craft and deliver organization wide security communications and functions as point person for security questions and inquiries.
  • Coordinate content creation amongst security pillars and maintain pulse on current trends and incidents impacting organization.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in security, technology, engineering, communications, marketing, education or equivalent work experience
  • At least 4 years work experience in or partnering with information technology, cyber security, or information security.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency leveraging tools and technology to craft and implement program deliverables.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including IT, HR, and business units, to align training initiatives with organizational goals and security objectives.
  • Risk-based mindset with ability to prioritize and respond to gain alignment and safeguard organizational assets.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing employee training programs with ability to oversee end-to-end training initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging presentations and training sessions on security topics.
  • Familiarity with requirements such as HIPAA, PCI DSS, or PIPEDA, and security frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO27001, or CIS.
  • A strong understanding of Security Awareness platforms and their capabilities to administer phishing simulations and deliver training materials, such as KnowBe4.
  • Proficiency in leveraging technology tools and application to create engaging and interactive training materials.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret training metrics, track learner engagement, and identify areas for improvement, to generate comprehensive reports and actionable insights to inform decision-making and enhance the overall efficacy of the training program.
  • Ability to influence and inspire others to adopt security best practices and policies.
  • Security industry certification desired
