Responsibilities:
- Your responsibilities will include leading in vitro pharmacology efforts that will elucidate novel drug target mechanisms and establish causal relationships between drug target modulation and neurological diseases. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing and utilizing in vitro models of neurodegenerative and other neurological diseases. You will be expected to –
- Design and conduct rigorous experiments, including cell-based and biochemical assays, to explore novel drug targets, aimed at yielding definitive yes/no answers
- Maintain a highly organized, detail-oriented, and data-driven approach to research, ensuring accurate problem-solving and experiment execution
- Utilize exceptional data analysis and presentation skills to effectively communicate complex research findings
- Occasionally partner with Contract Research Organizations (CROs) to develop reagents or perform assays, contributing to project advancements
- Act as a team player, committed to fostering a collaborative, transparent, and productive work environment
Requirements:
- PhD in cell biology, molecular biology, physiology, biochemistry or related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience or a Master’s Degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience
- Proven extensive hands-on expertise in the culture and manipulation of primary neurons and other central nervous system (CNS) cell types
- Experience developing cell-based models of neurodegeneration is a plus
- Experience with in vitro delivery of oligonucleotides is a plus
- Demonstrated capability to mentor or supervise other technical staff
- Applicants must have authorization to work in the U.S.
The estimated base salary range for this role is $110,000 to $150,000. Individual compensation decisions will be based on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills.
