Nimble Therapeutics is embarking on its next phase of growth by initiating the build-out of its Drug Discovery group in the Greater Philadelphia area, augmenting the company's discovery capabilities in Madison, WI. Initially located at B+ Labs at the Cira Center in downtown Philadelphia, the drug discovery group will focus on the biological and pharmacological characterization and optimization of therapeutics peptides, in addition to supporting the progression of programs into clinical development.
We are seeking a Senior Scientist to join our Immunology and Pharmacology group which is focused on developing and running cellular assays to characterize and optimize peptides from our drug discovery programs. This position will play a key role on program teams by generating decision making data on the immunological and pharmacological properties of compounds. This position reports to the Head of Biology. Key responsibilities for the role are:
- Identify, evaluate, design and execute experimental plans for in vivo models to characterize the biological and pharmacological properties of program compounds.
- Analysis of experimental data and communication to scientific teams and executive management
- Help lead strategy and planning of drug discovery programs, including identifying, evaluating, and championing new ideas and technologies
- Lead and collaborate with other scientists and research associates
- Lead external research relationships with academic and commercial partners
The ideal candidate will be an innovative, accomplished scientist with strong knowledge of Immunology and its application to disease in an industry/biotech setting. They will have a track record of accomplishments in developing and executing innovative assays and methodologies. Requirements for the role include:
- Ph.D. in immunology, biological sciences, bioengineering, or related field
- 4 plus years of experience in relevant laboratory pharmaceutical or biotechnology settings, especially in assay development and drug discovery
- Deep knowledge of immunology, cell signaling, and associated lab techniques
- Experience in NK-cell and or B-cell biology, stromal immunology, immuno-oncology or other translational areas are a plus
- Demonstrated success in executing research programs, with a track record of top tier publications, patents, or similar
- Demonstrated leadership ability and experience managing small, agile teams is a plus
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
